Ghost Miles 2026

By registering for Ghost Miles, you agree to comply with the following terms and conditions. These terms are in place to ensure the safety, fairness, and integrity of the experience for all participants and crew.

Refund Policy

We understand that life happens. Our refund policy balances participant flexibility with the logistics and commitments required to organise an event of this scale

Cancellation before 25 July 2025: 100% refund

Cancellation before 25 September 2025: 50% refund

Cancellation before 25 December 2025: 10% refund

Cancellation after 25 December 2025: No refunds under any circumstances

All cancellations must be submitted in writing via email to the event organizers. Refunds are calculated based on the date of receipt of your cancellation request. Please note: No refunds will be given for early withdrawal during the event, missed segments, or disqualification.

Entry Transfers

Participants may transfer their entry to another runner before 25 February 2026.

Transfers must be submitted and confirmed in writing by both parties.

The new participant must complete and submit all required forms, waivers, and documentation within 7 days of the transfer being approved.

After 25 February 2026, transfers will not be accepted under any circumstances.

Required Gear & Documentation

This is a remote and demanding multi-day endurance experience. You will not be allowed to participate without:

All essential gear, as detailed in the compulsory gear list (to be provided).

All necessary Medical Clearance Documentation as specified.

Signed indemnity and liability waivers.

Valid ID or passport copy.

Failure to present or meet these requirements will result in exclusion from the event with no refund.

Gear checks will be conducted prior to departure and during the event.

Physical Fitness & Responsibility

By entering Ghost Miles, you declare that:

You are physically fit and sufficiently prepared to complete this journey (approximately 800+ km over rugged terrain).

You understand the physical and mental demands of the event.

You accept full responsibility for your own wellbeing before, during, and after the event.

The organizers reserve the right to remove any participant from the event if, in the judgment of the medical or safety team, their participation puts themselves or others at risk.

Code of Conduct

Ghost Miles is built on mutual respect, shared challenge, and community. All participants are expected to:

Treat fellow runners, crew, locals, and the natural environment with respect.

Leave no trace — take all waste with you.

Follow all instructions from crew and local authorities.

Not engage in disruptive, aggressive, or unsafe behavior.

Violation of the code of conduct may result in removal from the event without refund.

Route & Environmental Conditions

The route is subject to change due to weather, safety concerns, or unforeseen circumstances.

Daily distances and terrain may vary significantly from day to day. This event includes remote sections with no access to shops, signal, or services. There may be times where you will have to be self-sufficient between areas where the support crew cannot access.

Participants acknowledge the risk of:

Extreme weather (wind, heat, cold, rain)

Wildlife encounters

Navigational challenges

Limited or no cellphone coverage

Weather, Force Majeure & Event Adjustments

The event will proceed rain or shine, unless conditions are deemed unsafe. The organizers reserve the right to delay, modify, or cancel any part of the route in the interest of safety. No refunds will be issued in the case of route alterations, weather delays, or force majeure circumstances (natural disasters, public emergencies, road closures, etc.).

Media & Content Release

By participating in Ghost Miles, you grant the organizers and affiliated creatives the right to:

Photograph and film you during the event.

Use your image, voice, or story in marketing materials, media releases, social media, and any future promotional content.

You waive any right to compensation for such usage.

If you have specific concerns about image use, please notify the team in writing before the event.

Liability

By signing up, you agree to the following:

You release the event organizers, crew, sponsors, and partners from all liability related to injury, illness, loss, or damage sustained during or after the event.

You accept full responsibility for your own travel insurance and personal medical coverage.

You understand that emergency response time may be delayed due to the remoteness of the location.

Insurance & Medical

All participants are strongly encouraged to have active Medical Aid or Insurance that includes comprehensive coverage for medical evacuation, injury, hospitalization, emergency treatment, and ambulance transport.

Final Authority

The Event Director and organizing team reserve the right to:

 

Disqualify or remove participants at any time for safety, rule violations, or non-compliance.

Make final decisions regarding disputes, emergencies, and unforeseen circumstances.

By registering for Ghost Miles, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms and conditions in full.
